We can perform test and turn-up of equipment from all of the major optical networking manufacturers including Nortel, Alcatel, Lucent, and Tellabs. We also specialize in helping our clients re-deploy some of their older equipment for which manufacturer support is no longer available. |
Equip and Configure
Of the many hazards that fiber optic electronics face during the deployment process such as shipping damage, static discharge, and dust, the installer should not be one of them. Our highly trained optical technicians equip and configure your expensive and highly sensitive equipment with care, employing clean and static-safe techniques to navigate the deployment process with success. |
Standalone Testing
It is critical that any problems with new or redeployed equipment be discovered prior to being placed in service. For this reason, testing is more than just a formality. Any shortcuts during this vital stage can be costly to our customers and harmful to our reputation. We rigorously test the optical transport equipment according to manufacturer recommended procedures to verify installation quality, identify faulty equipment, and ensure that the shelf is functioning correctly before our customer places traffic on them. |
System/Ring Testing
We perform end-to-end system tests using a T-Berd or other network analyzers to simulate traffic patterns that the SONET, SDH, or DWDM system will experience in production. We make extensive use of optical and electrical loopbacks and daisy-chains to fully load the system and exhaustively test for error-free operation over a 24-hour or other customer-specified period. Traffic protection is also tested to simulate fiber cut scenarios. |
Fiber Testing
Any end-to-end system installation also includes testing of the optical power levels being transmitted and received between the nodes. Levels are adjusted using the correct attenuation. Additional testing capabilities include physical examination with a fiberscope, Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry (OTDR) testing, and spectrum analysis for DWDM systems requiring manual balancing. |

Superstructure
Central Office ironwork construction including any type of cable rack installation or modification in either seismic or non-seismic zones. Our work conforms to Bellcore GR1275 standards. |
Power and Grounding
DC power and grounding systems, Battery Distribution Fuse Bay (BDFB) installation, fuse panels and associated cabling We also have experience with battery plants and large power systems and can act in a supervisory role to other vendors, or subcontract this work, saving our customers from having to deal with multiple vendors. |
Structured Cabling
We utilize the lost art of cable lacing to ensure that our installations are secure and clean in appearance. Our technicians have this traditional technique down to an art form, and more than once we have been told that our workmanship is the best that a particular office has ever seen. |
Labeling
The difference between a good installation and a great one is found in the labeling. We are constantly seeking new ways to improve the quality and accuracy of our labeling and always aim to exceed customer expectations in this often overlooked area. |
Fiber
We install inside-plant fiber and fiber raceway systems such as the ADC FiberGuide and supporting hardware as well as Fiber Distribution Panels (FDP’s) and Fiber Distribution Frames (FDF’s). We also supply fibers and attenuators customized to fit the job at hand. |

Planning & Engineering
We provide subject matter expertise on optical network design and test procedures. We also can act as an in-field agent of our customer’s engineering services by performing site surveys and field audits to help fill in missing information. |
Document Preparation
Project Document preparation including:
- Engineering Design Documents
- Floorplan Drawings
- Methods of Procedure (MOP’s)
- Rack Elevation Drawings
- Acceptance Testing Plans
- Ring Diagrams

Office Simulation and Inventory
Virtual office simulation using our proprietary telecom office modeling system allowing our customers to see what their equipment room layouts will look like before a wrench is turned. Using the same tool, we can inventory your existing offices and provide results in your preferred format as well as a 3D simulation. |

Technical support and training are included automatically with every optical turn-up that we do. We can also provide additional maintenance and support services to meet customer needs. |
| |
Maintenance
We can perform software and hardware upgrades, ring reconfigurations such as adding or dropping a node, DWDM system wavelength insertion and balancing, traffic migrations and cutovers. |
Support
We can also support local operations by supplying field personnel to assist with network change activities. Other areas we can assist in include hands-on training, provisioning support, and NOC support by troubleshooting errors or alarms. |
